You must have heard of tours of Sabah, one of the two states making up the Malaysian portion of Borneo. Sabah is just one of the 13 states in Malaysia, and just one part of all the things you can see. A great part of Sabah has yet to be discovered, so you may be the one who can do it.
If you are looking for some reasons to visit Sabah, here they are:
1. It has everything - reefs, forests, caves, mountains, and tribal people. Its history and culture are so rich that you won't even know where to start. One place to start is searching for a wildlife. The best way is to take a ride on the Kinabatangan River where you'll be able to come face to face with many interesting creatures.
2. If you want to see more of life in Sabah, don't miss its national and state parks that are under governance protection. There are many of them such as Kinabalu Park, which is said to be one of the most famous outdoor adventure sites, alongside Turtle Islands Park and Sipadan Island.
3. You can also do some jungle trekking and see the wildlife. There are a lot of places where you can do this, but one of the most famous sites is Maliau Basin, also known as the Lost World. The only thing is that you cannot go there whenever you want, special permission is needed.
4. For those who are into sightseeing, Kota Kinabalu is the best place for that. This capital city of Sabah is full of museums and cultural centers, such as State Mosque, Sabah State Museum, Menara Tun Mustapha, Signal Hill observatory, Monsopiad Cultural Village and many others.
5. Kota Kinabalu is also a great place to do some shopping, from the Filipino Market and Gaya Street Fair where you can buy some of local handicraft, to the many malls and boutiques where high fashionable goods can be found. You can watch beautiful and unforgettable sunsets, and eat tasty and unique seafood.
6. One more wonderful place to visit is the Green Connection in Kota Kinabalu. This aquarium and science discovery center can show you marine life, with more than 670 species of plants and animals on display. The Green Connection introduces the marine ecosystem of Sabah to visitors and is a great adventure not only for kids but for all generations.
